Weve assisted numerous businesses in optimizing their staffing needs, allowing them to focus on their core operations.**Title: Histology Technician**Location: Oklahoma City, OK 73104**Shift: 40 hours days and nights**Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension**Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:* MLT, MT, HTL or HT Certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in routine, special, immunostaining techniques & high complexity testing in an acute hospital setting. Knowledge of the process of all aspects of the histology lab, including tissue processing, microtomy, special staining procedures and immunohistochemistry used for tissue differentiation and diagnosis. Ability to work with precision and care to ensure accuracy and efficiency under periods of pressure and stress. Ability to establish rigid controls to ensure all specimens are properly identified as to source and type.*Job responsibilities include: * Receives surgical specimens, logs these accessions, and assigns them an accession number. Enters specimen data and patient information in the computer. Checks for errors and brings errors and discrepancies to the supervisors attention. Demonstrates full competency in all histology techniques, including embedding, cutting, staining and cover slipping. Prepares, performs, and troubleshoots special stain solutions. Performs grossing techniques and submits Pathology specimens utilizing departmental templates in conjunction with the Dictaphone system. Performs advanced and specialized Histology and Immunohistochemistry techniques. Performs, evaluates and records established quality control and quality assurance procedures.
