The Aircraft Maintenance Foreman is responsible for the Aircraft Maintenance Branch Manager for exercising independent judgment, possessing abilities sufficient to supervise and performing other duties assigned. The Foreman consults with the Branch Manager and/or Maintenance Manager where departures from standard practices are involved. The essential functions include, but are not limited to: Responsible for oversight of maintenance performed on Air Force Aircraft. Delegates appropriate levels of authority as necessary to ensure the achievement of all contractual requirements on time and within budget. Informs and discusses aircraft and maintenance issues with Branch Manager, quality control and maintenance staff, and customer representatives. Ensures compliance with Air Force procedures and practices required and support the company quality management system. Responsible for all aircraft maintenance activities performed by Vertex personnel assigned and off-site locations. Conducts regular production meetings with maintenance staff. Ensures maintenance actions are performed according to specific guidance presented in aircraft or system maintenance manuals and other technical publications. Responsible for compiling fleet maintenance data and performing statistical analysis that benefits the customer. Monitor maintenance activities to minimize aircraft maintenance-related delays, problems, or issues. Oversees all maintenance and repair activities and takes steps to prevent or correct disruptions caused by personnel shortages, failure of machinery, tools, materials or schedule changes. Ensures Vertex maintenance department personnel comply with all regulatory, contract, and company requirements, and training/ethics programs. Responsible for the on-going development, review, and revision of procedures and instructions pertinent to Vertex aircraft maintenance operations. Recommends program level policies, procedures, and/or contract modifications to help improve Program efficiencies. Works with the Quality Control Manager as necessary to resolve any conflicts, discrepancies, or omissions related to technical guidance. Hires, develops goals and objectives, monitors and evaluates performance, and writes performance reviews for direct reports. Explores opportunities for improvement and effects changes to optimize maintenance support. Oversees coordination and scheduling of travel for mechanics and technicians in support of operations, training, and aircraft maintenance and/or acceptance. Ensures all Vertex maintenance department personnel are properly trained, certified, and comply with approved procedures, methods, and practices for each aircraft maintenance activity. Ensures all Vertex maintained shop equipment and tools are serviceable and properly used. Ensures the AOC hangar and off-site maintenance locations are kept in a clean, FOD free, orderly manner and proper waste management is practiced. Ensures Vertex maintenance personnel observe all safety precautions and properly utilize approved personal protective equipment. Responsible for the establishment and monitoring of non-hazardous maintenance work environments at all Vertex manned sites that are conducive to the safety and well being of all employees. Performs other duties as assigned.
