SummaryT3i is seeking a full-time Cognitive Performance Specialist for the initial standup and day-to-day operations of a human performance (HP) program supporting Air Force pilot training at Vance Air Force Base (AFB) in Enid, OK. This work will incorporate job-specific conditioning, cutting-edge HP technology, and easy-access to prehab & rehab physical therapy.The Cognitive Performance Specialist will be responsible for addressing learning speed, recall, problem-solving, and critical thinking for future pilots. The Cognitive Performance Specialist will also be responsible for enhancing emotional resiliency through development of stress management, mindfulness, and awareness training. Selected applicants are assigned to a team that prepares Air Force pilots for the physical and mental demands produced while operating aircrafts during their training pipelines and throughout their careers. Physical capacity & durability addresses the physical demands of flying operations. This holistic approach incorporates strength & conditioning specifically geared towards the physical occupational challenges pilots may encounter. Mental performance training experts will seek to assist student pilots increasing performance in the Undergraduate Pilot Training course. Specifically, candidates should expect to address stress & time management, critical thinking, problem-solving, effective learning processes, and emotional resiliency. Additionally, Cognitive Performance Specialists should expect to be of service to the Instructor Pilot population. Selected candidates will facilitate educational and practical instruction on the instruction process, as well as assist Instructors with fostering a more productive learning environment. Daily activities include developing and instructing 19th AF curriculum, and assisting the CRAFT team with planning, scheduling, execution and validations of the HP program efficiency and effectiveness. The selected applicant will have daily contact and interaction with AF trainees and senior leaders, as well as other staff members, contractors, and vendors. As such, the selected party must adhere to the highest standards of conduct throughout the course of their daily activities and apply appropriate relationships with trainees, customers, and teammates.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.* Apply subject matter expertise in the areas of psychology, performance psychology, and counseling, and to conduct research across functional areas, including cognitive enhancement and accelerated learning, instructor development and training, tactical training, holistic human performance training and man-machine interface. * Assist project manager with planning, scheduling, execution and validations of the HP program efficiency and effectiveness. * Analyze and identify needs and provide viable interventions, including training and performance support.* Analyze the development of research procedures.* Use simulation technology and biofeedback to promote excellence and efficiency for physical, technical, and tactical training during the challenges of combat operations or pressure situations. Gather data, compile information into documents regarding sport psychology, and leverage mental expertise and cognitive enhancement training techniques. * Provide HP program support with cognitive performance training, assessments, and man machine interface.* Assist project manager with planning, scheduling, execution, and validations of the HP program efficiency and effectivenessQUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION:Required (Minimum) Qualifications:* 5 years combined experience with psychology, counseling, and kinesiology MA or MS degree in Human Performance, Kinesiology, or Exercise Science, and/or Sport Sciences with a specialization in Sport Psychology or similar* Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics* Ability to work independently or in a team and meet deadlines* Build rapport with students and motivate them to achieve higher levels of performance* Strong communication (written and oral), leadership and organizational skills* Study, follow and apply designated AF training and safety directives and guidelines* Effectively work with frequent changes, interruptions and varying environmental conditions* Ability to work independently or in a team and meet deadlines Preferred:* Ability to work independently or in a team and meet deadlines* Build rapport with students and motivate them to achieve higher levels of performance* Strong communication (written and oral), leadership and organizational skills* Study, follow and apply designated AF training and safety directives and guidelines* Effectively work with frequent changes, interruptions and varying environmental conditions* Ability to work independently or in a team and meet deadlinesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:No supervisory responsibilitiesADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:As a condition of employment, candidates may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military bases.Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
