Job Description Job Description Salary: MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide initial assessments for appropriateness of potential group
members Provide intakes, assessment and group education in the best
interest of the clients while upholding strict adherence to
professional rules of conduct in areas of confidentiality and other
ethical concerns Provide group education based on interventions
consistent with current research literature
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS Graduate degree in behavioral health or
criminal justice related field and one-year related work
experience, or Bachelors degree in a behavioral health or criminal
justice related field and two years related work JOB KNOWLEDGE AND
SKILLS Knowledge of a variety of educational techniques and
demonstrated skill in applications of these techniques. Knowledge
of the standards for the Batterers Intervention Program. Knowledge
of the psychological and physical effects of domestic violence,
child abuse, sexual assault, and emotional abuse as well as issues
of legality, ethics, and treatment of these. Knowledge of
perpetrators of violence issues including self-control, appropriate
venting, etc. Ability in not imposing self-values or judgments onto
perpetrators of domestic violence, sexual assault or child abuse.
Experience with the batterer population preferred. SPECIFIC DUTIES
AND TASKS Plan and provide education for perpetrators of domestic
violence, sexual assault and child abuse. Provide initial
assessments/interviews for potential group members and establish
appropriate group membership. Perform assessment to be utilized by
DA and court system and/or DHS Maintain accurate statistical
information required by the agency. Attend supervision meetings
with assigned clinical consultant within the agency. Participate in
community education as requested. Maintain accurate records for
client fees including but not limited to the following:
psychological evaluations, intake information, confidentiality,
informed consent, client rights and release of information forms,
case notes, treatment plans, contracts, admissions, discharges, and
discharge summaries. Provide biannual audits of MENders client
files in order to maintain client rights and release of information
forms, case notes, treatment plans, contracts, admissions,
discharges, and discharge summaries. Attend scheduled staff
meetings and required in-service training. Contribute to an
atmosphere of teamwork within the agency. Know and act in
accordance with the Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services Policies &
Procedures Manual in job related areas. Promote a positive and
professional image of Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services.
Complete additional tasks deemed appropriate for this position by
the Executive Director. HOURS 15-20 hours Must be available
Wednesdays 4-7:30 PM
