8:00am - 5:00pm; 36-40 hour week Full Time Benefits: 20 days of PTO

provides quality care in collaboration with Medical Providers,
Integrated Care Consultants, and Nursing staff. The Medical
Assistants supports the Nurse Clinic Manager to provide quality
medical care to all Hunter Health Clinic (HHC) patients while
maintaining compliance with all federal grants, OSHA, and HHC
policies and procedures. Essential Functions: Assists Physicians,
Mid-Levels, Nurses, and other Medical Assistants with patient care.
Prepares for the scheduled patient 1-2 days in advance to identify
needs and orders, and then leads daily care team huddles while
reviewing the completed visit preparations. Assists with setting up
patient rooms, tray and patient themselves for exams by what the
visit entails. Follows all processes and procedures during patient
visits, including capturing vitals, perform procedures and
follow-up, and administer medication as requested by provider.
Oversees that all prescription refill requests are reviewed and
approved, then faxed and received. Completes all documentation on
patients for historical information, vaccinations, chief
complaints, procedures, patient encounters, phone calls, referrals,
education, medication, and follow-ups. Assists with monitoring
inventory and keeping the storage supply closet organized. Follows
all infection prevention protocols including handwashing, cleaning
of the exam rooms, monitoring biohazard disposal receptables and
sharps containers. Completes all communication with patients and
medication requests within HHC expected timeframes. Completes all
internal processing forms accurately. Assists with managing quality
and productivity standards. Adheres to the Hunter Health Process
focusing on schedule utilization, jockeying, 30-second reports, and
other patient procedures. Travels when necessary to meet
operational needs. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Certified or Registered Medical Technician, Medical
Assistant and/or Certified Nurse Assistant is preferred. Completion
of a training course in Medical Assisting is preferred. Current
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required, within 30 days of hire. 1-3
years of experience in healthcare is preferred, with experience in
a community health center is also preferred. Bilingual abilities
are preferred, but not required. Skills: Listens, identifies, and
responds quickly and effectively to internal and external needs.
Communicates effectively with all patients. Displays organizational
skills, the ability to multi-task, and uses time and resources
effectively. Displays good judgment and decision-making skills.
Effectively collaborates and seeks clarification and confirms
accuracy as needed. Utilizes teamwork to achieve desired results
and contributes to projects while developing positive working
relationships. Pursues goals with commitment and shows initiative.
Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and reliability; manages time
and priorities; develops and follows work procedures. Evaluates own
performance and accepts constructive feedback to continue learning.
