Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a post-surgical unit, requiring step-down and acute care surgical floor experience with travel background. Responsibilities - Position is based in a hospital setting on a post-surgical Med/Surg unit - Care for inpatients pre- or post-surgical services, including ENT and transplant cases - Nurses manage patients with new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT or DHT - Some patients require step-down level care - Patient ratios are 5-6:1 for surgical patients and 3-4:1 for step-down area - Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week - Nurses are responsible for a group of post-surgical patients and must document care and patient response - Care includes assisting with minor diagnostic procedures, medication and IV administration, and monitoring patient progress - Responsible for involving and educating patients and families in care plans and discharge instructions - Delegation of tasks to support staff is expected - ENT and/or transplant experience is preferred - Position does not accept OR nursing experience as qualification - Extensions are limited to one for a total of 26 weeks, with a 6-month separation required before reapplying - First-time travelers are not eligible for this role Requirements - Active Oklahoma or multistate compact RN license required - Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required - Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience, including step-down and acute care surgical floor - Travel nursing experience required - Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required - Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred - Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills - Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-668925.
