Job Title: Registered Nurse Procedural Profession: RN Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days 4x10s, call required during week and weekends Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum years of experience required in specialty area License: Current RN License issued by the state Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. ACLS required within 6 months of hire. Must-Have: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Basic computer skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team providing excellent specialized care. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in one of the specialty areas. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders on assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans during the hospital stay and at time of discharge. Oversees treatment provided by technicians or other service providers. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Experience and skills in this area are essential for successful placement.
