Job Description:

ResponsibilitiesUpon request of the ED physician, assesses patients for the need to be placed under emergency detention. Completes required paperwork to meet the legal requirements to place a patient under emergency detention. Assists with making appropriate referrals for patients needing outpatient services.Ensures patient dignity and respects patient values.Operates within ethical standardsAble to assess and reassess the needs of the patient.Completes and properly documents of progress notes and assessment according to program procedures.Able to communicate needs of the patients.Completes psychosocial evaluations on assigned patients in a timely fashion. Displays good interviewing, diagnostic and report writing skills.Conducts therapies in accordance with patient's diagnosis and needs with appropriate supervision.Provides efficient discharge planning throughout treatment process and according to specific assignment.Assists with the development of individualized treatment plans for each patient.An active member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.May conduct individual, family or group psychotherapy sessions in accordance with state/regulatory standards, displaying good theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and good treatment technique with appropriate supervision.Engages in timely, efficient discharge planning. Works in close conjunction with patient, family, nursing staff and attending physician. Shows good knowledge of referral/placement process and available community resources.Functions cooperatively as a member of the treatment team.Works sufficient hours to ensure effective performance. Is on 24-hr call to respond to emergencies.Provides ongoing education to patient and family as needed.Conducts educational group sessions, displaying good theoretical knowledge of subject matter and effective communication skills in presenting material.Communicates effectively with families and agencies, conveying a positive, professional image.Provides resources and support for patient before, during and after treatment.May be a member of the Referral Development Committee. Effectively participates in the referral development process.Actively involved in measuring patient performance.Communicates results and trends to supervisor.Provides feedback to supervisor on ongoing basis in regards to concerns, improvements, changes, etc..Identifies areas needing improvement and utilizes the facility performance improvement process. Actively participates in department processes as required.Brings to Program Director's/supervisor's attention significant issues related to program functioning.Utilizes feedback regarding performance and uses supervision to improve performance.Reports deficiencies to supervisor.Completes all required competencies per program regulations.Keeps current on CEU requirements to maintain licensure status.Identifies areas needing improvement and utilizes the facility performance improvement process. Actively participates in department processes as required.Brings to Program Director's/supervisor's attention significant issues related to program functioning.Utilizes feedback regarding performance and uses supervision to improve performance.Reports deficiencies to supervisor.Completes all required competencies per program regulations.Keeps current on CEU requirements to maintain licensure status.Performs other duties as required and assigned.QualificationsMeet the qualifications of an LMHP as prescribed by Oklahoma Title 43A.Be licensed in the State of Oklahoma in one of the following disciplines, Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, Licensed Behavioral Practitioner, Advanced Practice Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Licensed Drug and Alcohol counselor/Mental Health.BLS required within 6 months of hire.SECURE training required within 60 days of hiring, renew annually thereafter.EEO StatementAll UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
