Systems Engineering Manager - Executive Transport & Surveillance
Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space, and Security
(BDS) is seeking a dynamic Systems Engineering Manager, in Oklahoma
City, OK, to lead a team of engineers to accomplish the Systems
Engineering scope of work for he Executive Transport and
Surveillance (ET&S) portfolio in the Mobility, Surveillance &
Bombers Division. This position requires excellent communication
and leadership skills, detailed knowledge and systems engineering
experience supporting modification and modernization programs. Top
candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills,
be honest and transparent with employees, create an engaging
culture and maintain high ethical standards while delivering
results. Additionally, managers are accountable for the success,
happiness and growth of the people within the group. In this
position you will lead your team to work across numerous
engineering teams to develop, coordinate, and drive system
solutions. Position Responsibilities: Responsible for cost,
schedule and technical execution of the Systems Engineering
statement of work (e.g. Requirements, Architecture, Interfaces,
Verification, Technical Performance Management, Integration)
Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders,
peers, partners and direct reports. Partners with the Systems
Engineering Integration Team (SEIT) leader, Program Management,
Program Chief Engineer, and Program Teams. Manages, develops and
motivates employees. Coaches, counsels, mentors and provides
developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee
performance and expand capabilities. Provides on-going
developmental feedback. Recognizes contributions of individuals and
teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and
motivated workforce. Develops project or operational plans aligned
to MS&B objectives. Implements plans to ensure business,
technical and customer requirements are achieved. Assigns authority
and responsibilities to employees to execute the plan. Reviews
plans' execution, makes appropriate adjustments, and resolves
issues. Monitors appropriate metrics to ensure performance to plan.
Forecasts resource needs and obtains and manages personnel,
facilities, services, equipment and tools to meet project and daily
operating requirements. Acquires, deploys and schedules personnel
to meet project and operational objectives. Proactively
communicates with employees, peers (e.g., fellow first-level
managers) and customers. Keeps others informed by communicating
project status, conducting and participating in team meetings,
providing presentations and listening to employee concerns and
suggestions. Communicates policies and directives to enhance
employee awareness of expectations. Manages Systems Engineering
execution across the program and leads resolution of critical
program issues Ensures cross-functional team performance & on-time
delivery within allocated budgets This position is 100% onsite in
Oklahoma City, OK. This position requires the ability to obtain a
U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S.
Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance
Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required
Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited
course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes
manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics,
mathematics, data science, or computer science 8 years’ experience
with engineering of large or small-scale systems, and overall
systems engineering disciplines is required. 2 years’ experience
leading (formal and/or informal) multi-disciplinary engineering and
integration teams is required. Excellent understanding of systems
engineering and experience developing and managing processes.
Hands-on experiences with planning and conducting major program
milestone reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, FCA) and the Boeing
Enterprise Standard Gate Process (ESGP). Preferred Qualifications
(Desired Skills/Experience): Hands-on experience with architecture
and requirement definition, analysis, integration and management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic
mindset Experience with budget management and resource allocation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability
to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels
internally and externally. Comfortable presenting to program
leaders and to customers. Demonstrated experience taking
initiative, leading cross functional teams, working across
organizational boundaries, and ensuring an inclusive environment
