Job Description Job Description A Stihl technician is a skilled professional who repairs, maintains, and sells Stihl outdoor power equipment like chainsaws and trimmers. You will diagnose and fix mechanical and electrical issues. We will send you for training with the Stihl Mult-level certification program. Not only will you be learning about Stihl, but also about cattle and livestock equipment and helping customers with pricing. There are times that Stihl is seasonal, and you will be cross trained for other departments. We are looking for someone that is mechanically inclined that could step into a working role. We already have an established business. This job would have benefits for a full-time employee. Responsibilities Listed: 1. Repair and maintenance 2. Customer Service 3. Technical knowledge 4. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Skills needed are keyboarding and ten-key by touch. Minimum words per minute on keyboard would be 30 wpm. Other equipment that will be used and available for use are multi-line telephone, fax, copy machine, credit card machine, and personal computer/software. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Talking and hearing are required. The employee frequently is required to walk to get merchandise and reach with hands and arms to move and shelve merchandise. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may increase some if you go to the warehouse. Farm chemicals and fertilizers are sold in sealed containers, but there is a noticeable odor at times. Grain is a naturally dusty product. Since feed manufacturing means handling grain, grain dust can be an irritant to those with allergies. Because of dust particles, chemicals, insecticides and odors, those who suffer from allergies may find that Stillwater Milling Company is not an ideal place to work. Also, the wearing of contact lenses may be limited. GENERAL COMMENTS: It is important for the Customer Service/Stock Clerk to present a positive image of Stillwater Milling Company and maintain a good relationship with the customer. Therefore, one must enjoy working with the public. There are a lot of different responsibilities so one needs to like variety in their work; be flexible; and able to deal with change.
